Search Engine Marketing FAQs

What is Search Engine Marketing?

Search engines such as Google™ and Yahoo!® offer two types of listings:

  • Organic listings that are obtained by the search engine ‘crawling’ your website and placing it in the search engine. These ads appear on the main part of the search results page.
  • Paid listings are specific places in the search engine where ad space can be purchased, based on the keywords someone searches for in the search engine. These ads typically appear at the top and to the right of the page, set off from the organic search results.

Our service offers paid listings where professional editors choose the keywords that best represent your website, and when someone searches those keywords, your listings are shown in the paid listings areas.

How quickly after I place my order will I begin to get clicks to my website?

Within a few days after we receive your order, you’ll receive a welcome e-mail announcing all of the vital details of the campaign - such as keywords and ad text - that our team of copywriters has selected to position the campaign for optimal success. At this stage, your account is live and ads will begin appearing on search engines in our network as consumers come searching for your products and services.

I already buy clicks from Google or Yahoo at a lower price than what you are offering. Why do I need MyEZClicks?

You can buy clicks yourself on search engines for less, but we feel that your time has value as well and our experience shows that it takes approximately 30 hours of setup time and 17 hours of monthly maintenance to execute a search marketing campaign including:

  • Choosing the appropriate search engines and setting up accounts with each one
  • Researching appropriate keywords
  • Creating advertising copy for each search engine (each with different rules)
  • Managing keyword bidding and budgets on a daily basis
  • Optimizing keywords and ad copy each month so your ad doesn’t get stale
  • Dealing with multiple bills and reconciliation from multiple search engines.

With MyEZClicks, we will purchase clicks for you on sites that capture over 95% of the search engine audience. We hire professionals to determine the keywords associated with your business that will draw the best results. And we monitor your activity and send out monthly reports to keep informed.

How do you “pace” my account or send me the right number of guaranteed clicks I purchased?

We use advanced algorithms and business rules to constantly assess the number of clicks received for a campaign versus the point in time of the campaign duration. If the number of clicks is running ahead of or behind the number of guaranteed clicks at any point throughout the campaign, we are able to manipulate a number of variables - both technologically and through the hands-on efforts of our professional editorial team - to get the campaign back on track.

What can I expect for a campaign conversion rate? In other words, how many of the clicks that send potential shoppers to my website might result in a sale?

Conversion rates are highly variable depending on the type of business and the products and services offered. However, the biggest piece of the equation is something you can control - the quality of the website. If you have compelling content with simple navigation and customers can quickly see why they’re visiting your site, you are more likely to turn shoppers into buyers. Think of your website as your store display: if window shoppers like what they see, they are more likely to enter your store – and buy!

How do you make sure I don’t receive all of my clicks in a short period of time?

Our internal software monitors your account to prevent underperformance or performance spikes. When your account is underperforming we ‘turn up the dial’ to place your ad more frequently on the search engines in higher priority positions to drive the traffic to your site. When you are over performing, we ‘turn down the dial’ to prevent those spikes. Over performance though can be a positive indicator that your product or service is in high demand and you may want to consider increasing your clicks package to a higher level.

Getting clicks to my website is great, but how do I know those people are doing business with me?

This is the type of question that business owners ask of all types of advertising. Keep in mind, the leads we are directing to your website are ones that are looking specifically for your type of business. The functionality, content and call-to-actions that you offer are all factors that promote profitable conversions.

I currently buy clicks from Google and Yahoo. Can I still buy from you? Do I have to cancel my current ads on these search engines?

The search engines do not allow multiple campaigns to be run against the same URL. If you want to run your own search campaign, then you should purchase MyEZClicks when your other campaigns end.

The exception to this rule is if your website has a distinct sub-page and keyword set that is dedicated to a different product or service from the main page. An example of this might be a car dealer website where the product is related to selling new cars (www.joescars.com/newcars) that has a sub-page dedicated to used cars (www.joescars.com\usedcars). This type of situation is typically accepted by the search engines.

Can I buy all of the inventory you have and block out my competitors?

No. There are many places for ads on a search results page, and your business can only occupy one.

Can I choose which engines my ads run on?

We believe that a click is a click is a potential buyer - it doesn’t matter where it comes from. Think of the search engine as the bridge that a potential consumer uses to find your business. The intent or sincerity of a searcher does not change based on the search engine they use.

If I buy clicks from you, will you help me get to the organic side of Google?

No, the left-hand side of Google is used for organic search results. These links are based on the relevancy calculation that Google uses. These links are not for sale and cannot be impacted by sponsored links.
